THE GABRIELLE ROWLEY SCHOOL OF DANCING
RAD Dance Instruction
Join us at The Gabrielle Rowley School of Dancing for Ballet or Tap Classes for Children & Adults in North London, We look forward to hearing from you!
The Gabrielle Rowley School of Dancing has been in existence for over 50 years in various locations in Muswell Hill, and in its present location for over 25 years.
Its founder, Miss Gabrielle Rowley, was a pupil of Phyliss Bedells who in turn was a pupil of the great Tamara Karsavina.
It is now run by Tamara Murray who was a pupil of miss Gabrielle Rowley. Since graduating from her school Tamara trained at the prestigious royal academy of dancing where she received the Karsavina prize.
Since then Tamara has taught ballet (both rad and cecchetti), tap, modern and jazz in various locations and schools in and around London on behalf of Chelsea ballet schools.
She currently not only runs the Gabrielle Rowley school of dancing but is also a member of the drama, dance & speech department at the city literary institute where she teaches actors movement and conditioning for stage, as well as a musical theatre diploma course.
Miss Gabrielle Rowley
14th May 1913 – 13th Oct 2019
I am sad to inform parents and pupils that Miss Gabrielle Rowley passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday 13th October at the age of 106 years old.
She founded The Gabrielle Rowley School of Dancing over 75 years ago in Muswell Hill and taught until she was in her 80’s. I know that some parents at the school were pupils of hers just as I was and will be sad to hear this news.
